Weser, Werder and Werdersee

Werdersee:
In Bremen we’ve got the "Werdersee"(lake). In spring, summer and autumn you can:
• go swimming
• bath in the sun
• jog
• relax
• fish
• skate
• row
• go for a walk (with a dog)

In winter you can go tobogganing, but this only if we have snow which is not often.

Weser:
The biggest river in Bremen is the Weser, which flows through the city. You can do all things which you can do at Werdersee.
Additionally you can:
• go by speedboat
go to "Café Sand" for:
o beachvolleyball
o eating and drinking
o going by ferry across the Weser
go to "Schlachte" for:
o eating and drinking
o relaxing
o flea market
o enjoying the special lights at night

Werder Bremen:
Werder plays in the highest league in Germany, the “1. Bundesliga”. In good times they play also in the Champions League. The stadium of Werder Bremen is named “Weserstadion”, it is made for ca. 50.000 people. In the stadium there is also a museum about Werder, called “Wuseum” and a fanshop.

Hello I’m Alice and I’m 16 years old. I’m in scientific section at school. I live in Marçon (ten minutes from Chateau du Loir) with my parents and my older sister who come back home for the weekends. I have played volleyball too during six years and I stopped because of team problems, but I love this sport too! My name is Pierre, I'm 18 years old (my birthday was on 2nd January).
I am in 1 ES (an economics and sociology class). My hobbies are computers, video games and e-sports (I practice Cs:s and Insurgency [a free steam powered game] ), music (I like many styles of music for example AC/DC, Bob Marley, La mano negra, Manu Chao, Ska-p, Ramstein, Les cowboys fringants and many others), I play the guitar, djembe, didgeridoo (an abo Australian intrument). I used to play badminton in a club but now I play just for pleasure and I like manga (Full Metal Almchemiste [love it :-)], Chi's sweet home, Rosario + vampire, and many others). My friends are everything to me and I can’t live without them. In my familly life I live with my mother, her husband and my two brothers. In the future I want to work in computer technology and I hope to study at EPITECH an engineering school. At school my favourite subjects are maths, spanish, economics and history. Thanks to the Comenius project I hope to meet new people and other cultures, and in the French group I am responsible for the internet side of the work.

I’m Nick Moinet, I’m 18. I come from Liege, in Belgium. My parents divorced 10 years ago and I live with my mother during the week and at the weekend with my father. I have got five brothers. The first one is 20 and the youngest is 6. It’s sometimes annoying to live together under the same roof but it’s a good way to be more sociable, tolerant and mature.
My hobbies: I have practiced some sports like football and martial-arts but it’s not the best way for me to have fun and feel in a good shape. Besides, I find pleasure with music, listening to House, Electro, Techno, Deep House, 80’S. These are my main hobbies. I enjoy very much. I like cooking good meals, my and my favourite dish is a pizza, but I’m fond of chips with “Boulet Liégeois”, too. (You must taste it one day if you don’t know what it is.) On Saturday afternoon, I go to the Youth Movement in my town.

Hi, my name is Meghan McNaughton and I am 18 years old. I am an exchange student from Niagara Falls, Canada here in France for a year at the Lycée Racan in Château du Loir.

My favourite subjects are biology, chemestry, and math, although I also enjoy learning languages and about different cultures. I can speak English, French, and Portuguese, and have a fairly good comprehension of Spanish. My future goals are to study either Health Sciences or Biomedical sciences in university upon my return home and eventually I would like to go to medical school, although I’m not sure in which field yet.

When it comes to music, I enjoy a variety of different styles, but I mostly prefer rock. Some of my favourite bands include Hedley, Boys like Girls, and Coldplay. I also play the piano at an advanced level.

Another interest of mine is travel. I have been to Canada, USA, Mexico, Malaysia, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Scotland, and France. I love to see new cultures and lifestyles.

My motivation in the COMENIUS project is to learn more about the french culture through the workshops, to learn more about the cultures of the other participating countries, and to share my culture with others.

Three words I would choose to describe my personality are ambitious, reflective, and caring.

Climbing in Bremen

For some years now high ropes courses have become more attractive in Germany. There are ropes in a height of 6-12 metres which are fastened to trunks. The "garden" (high ropes course) in Bremen enhances taking over responsibility, having more self-confidence, more teamgeist and to enjoy nature. www.seilgarten-lesum.de

In Bremen there exists another special climbing facility. A bunker from the 2nd World War was rebuilt to the climbing bunker. It is in Bremen Gröpelingen a suburb not far from our school. www.der-bunker.net

and they had a lot of fun and made good experiences.

My Name is Janin.
On July, the 25th I celebrated my 18th birthday.
I live with my older sister, my mother and my father in Bremen, its a town in the North of Germany.

My personality in three words:
I’m a friendly, but determined person and sometimes I’m a broad-minded person. I love to have fun with my friends because I think fun is important in life.

About me
My favourite food is noodles.
I like to listen to music, meet friends, sometimes I watch TV. Well, at the weekend you can sometimes meet me at a disco.
My hobbies are sailing, swimming, dancing and playing the guitar.
I like different kinds of music but traditional music of Germany – we call it Volksmusik – is horror for me.
At the moment I am training to become a sailing instructor; I coach sailing to teenagers and children. I have done this for one year now but I have already sailed.

School:
I go to an upper-secondary-level class (year 11) and I speak English, French (needs to be trained) and German. I have already been to France (taking part in an exchange programme) and Scotland and Denmark (in the holidays).

Future plans:
I would like to become a licensed sailing instructor.
My motivation for the COMENIUS-project is to get to know new people and learn about their countries. I think it’s a fantastic idea to communicate with other countries and learn something else.

My personality in 3 words is that I am almost always in a good mood, I am helpful and very caring.

Hi, my name is Charlene Ohlhoff. I am 16 years old and come from Bremen, it’s a federal state in Germany. At the moment I attend the school SZ Grenzstraße (year 11).

My favourite country is Japan, because I like their culture and those animes. Animes are films and series from Japan. In addition, I like to chill with my friends, go shopping, do crazy things and sometimes listen to music. My preferred music is metal, rock and J-Rock (this is rock from Japan).

What I don’t like at all are fish sticks, rise up (too) early in the morning. Plus, I don’t like mosquitoes.
Foreign languages: My foreign language skills are German, Spanish and Englisch.
I live with my brother, my mother and my stepfather in a house in Bremen near the town-centre. We have a cat and many fish.
My favourite subjects at school are Sport and History, because it’s interesting to find out how humans in earlier times lived.
I don’t know yet how I arrange my future. My future plan at the moment is to finish my final secondary-school examinations.
My talent is that I am very versatile. Plus, I am in the sports club Werder Bremen. Do you know the football league Werder??
It is interesting to meet new people and I would be glad if I could take part in the COMENIUS project. I think it is challenging to meet others and together work at a project.
